(IEMLP-P0925) Interprofessional Education for Medical Laboratory Professionals
Time limit: 365 days
Full program description
Providing quality safe health care is a priority in the Canadian health system. Interprofessional collaborative practice (IPCP) supports this priority. Quality medical laboratory (ML) services are dependent upon the collaboration of professionals inside (i.e., ML technologists and ML assistants) and outside (e.g., physicians, midwives, epidemiologists, etc.) of the ML. Interprofessional education (IPE) supports professional development that is based on the establishment of learning goals, self-reflection, and competency evaluation. In addition, IPE provides training for skills that employers look for to ensure that new learners and the existing workforce are prepared to work with other providers to support quality patient outcomes.
