Full course description
The postsecondary sector is most often focused on academic preparation and qualifications when hiring faculty members and other academic supports. This means that the management skills required to navigate large, complex institutions, and the facilities within them, represent a skills gap. Academics who do take on administrative roles are often expected to learn on the fly, with little in the way of formal training or qualifications. The objective of the IHEM course is to close that skills gap and to provide the foundations necessary to assist academics in becoming more effective managers.
